Patrick Thompson knows from experience that leaders must deliver solutions. As a technology executive, he has spent the past ten years developing sustainable energy solutions that have helped build Georgia’s renewable energy, electric vehicle, and energy efficiency industries. He learned this approach from his father, who went from life as a coal miner, to piloting propeller aircraft to commanding jets. Hard work, ingenuity and education were the common themes in his home that guide his life and career today.

Prior to his work in hi-technology sales and alliances, Patrick served as a public school teacher and a United States Park Ranger. His career has given him a working window into three presidential administrations: public liaison in the President Reagan White House; technology deployment for the President George H. W. Bush Transition Office and White House; and the President Clinton Reinventing Government effort.

Lorraine, Patrick’s wife of 30 years, works in special edication with Fulton County Public Schools. Patrick and Lorraine are the proud parents of two sons - a former Roswell police detective and a United States Marine. The Thompsons are members of Transfiguration Church in Marietta.

A History of Community Service

Patrick’s working-class family instilled in him the importance of service.  Both of his parents were devoted volunteers their entire lives. His mother is still an active volunteer in her 80s.

During his youth, Patrick earned his Eagle Scout Award and as an adult he's served as a trained Scout Master for the past 20 years. He's also achieved Brotherhood in the Order of the Arrow, earned Wood Badge for adult service and was awarded Scouting's District Award of Merit for his outstanding volunteer service. He has helped more than 70 young men accomplish their Eagle Scout Leadership Projects - assisting many in transitioning to productive roles in college, trade school, the military and careers.

Patrick is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, a non-profit association serving the military, government, industry and academia by sharing industry knowledge in areas like IT, intelligence and security.

In 2013, Patrick earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for his hundreds of volunteer hours with the Boy Scouts, food banks, senior citizens, conservation and the disabled.

Growing Georgia’s Technology Industry

Patrick’s information technology career began when he was hired by Ross Perot to assist government and corporate entities in leveraging disruptive technology. He then traveled the world in support of U.S. military computing. Patrick has worked with Georgia’s state and local governments as well as its largest and smallest companies to deliver strategic business solutions through technology. Patrick is currently applying his talents to the renewable energy industry. His current company, CloudBank, offers energy reduction solutions to clients interested in sustainable business transformation.
