A Vote for John Albers,

Incumbent Partisan Politician

Lobby Influence

Albers is 100% lobby driven and a card-carrying member of ALEC (the American Legislative Exchange Council - aka, the lobby for lobbies). He copies and cobbles together bills created by outside interests. He works for lobbyists and special interests, not the citizens of District 56.

ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council)

ALEC is a bill mill funded by private corporations. Through ALEC, corporations hand state lawmakers their legislative wish lists designed to benefit their bottom lines, not improve the lives of constiuents. Albers pays for a seat on the Communications & Technology Task Force. He takes tax-deductible money for "education" by lobbyists. Information on trips and trinkets associated with his ALEC activities are exempted from Georgia open records laws.

Transportation & Infrastructure

Albers answers only to the voracious road paving industry. He denies MARTA trains and connectivity with surrounding counties. He believes rampant, unplanned zoning and development are the marks of good economic development.

Healthcare

Albers continues to disregard the consequences of denying Georgians adequate health care. He is content to have our tax dollars go to other states to cover their healthcare costs, not here at home. Albers supports insurance coverage caps and thinks a free market will care for people over profit.

Education

Albers supports the privatization of public education. He believes in using taxpayer dollars to from an Opportunity School District managed by a private company with no accountability, no local control and no community involvement. Albers wants to transform the teacher retirement system into a Wall Street casino. He supports building casinos real-life casinos in Georgia to fund college scholarships.

Safety Net

Albers is intent on weakening and reducing social security and Medicare. He supports corporate welfare that costs taxpayers millions of dollars while sponsoring bills that require the poor, unemployed and disabled to submit to drug tests or perform community service to receive assistance.

Immigration Policy

Albers believes in spending public money to chase down immigrants, not the companies who bring them here in the first place. He supports English-only requirements over the economic contributions of immigrants. He is against temporary amnesty for undocumented workers.

Equality

Albers voted for so-called "religious liberty" laws and is against marriage equality. He supports voter suppression and weakening of the Voting Rights Act. Albers is against affirmative action laws and opposes raising the minimum wage.

Crime Control

Albers pledges allegiance to the NRA and has received a 93% rating from the gun lobby. He will pass whatever gun laws they want to pass in the State. He supported campus carry and aims to loosen gun purchasing restrictions. He also supports a Stand Your Ground Law, usurping public safety professionals and peaceful problem resolution.

Environment

As in other areas, Albers demonstrates no concern for sustainable planning or public transportation. He is beholden to companies maintaining the high cost of fossil fuels and nuclear energy.

Ethics

Georgia lawmakers are ranked 49th in the nation for ethics. This is the result of their hidden agendas, lobby influence, out of State influence and embellished resumes. Albers believes the governor should be allowed to appoint partisan judges for the judicial review council.

Positions

Albers offers few specifics, just rhetoric. He claims to support small government (except when it comes to regulating the poor), lower taxes (but more fees), fewer regulations (for only some industries and business) and the debunked theory of trickle down (voodoo) economics.

Patrick strongly believes that public servants should serve the people, not big corporations. His campaign will NOT accept funds from those with paid interests.
